Class Experience

In this private class, the student and I will work on ballet technique and focus on anything the learner may feel like they need extra support with. Some examples could be: focusing on turns, stretching, strengthening specific muscle groups or working on a choreographed solo. I could also provide advice and mentorship about following a professional dance career, preparing for auditions or applying to college BFA programs. Prior to scheduling the class the parent/learner should message me with some information about the level and prior experience the student has, as well as goals, they are hoping to accomplish during this class. I will then make sure I plan the class accordingly and completely customized to the student's needs.

CLASS STRUCTURE:
Each class will be starting with a warm up using the barre, going through complex exercises that will challenge the learner's understanding of the ballet structure and provide attention to detail. We will then move through center exercises and possibly work on a choreographed solo (if requested).

*This class is open to all ages and levels and each private will be customized and adjusted accordingly. This class is open to ALL and ANY bodies interested in investigating ballet physicality.
Learning Goals
Some of the goals I will encourage each student to focus their attention on is discipline, spatial awareness, musicality, movement clarity and a deeper sense of body listening.

Parental Guidance
Just a few logistics before we get started: It is nice to join the zoom meeting a few minutes early (if possible, otherwise no worries) so that I can help you with your setup. Just make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes (if you have ballet attire, that's great, but if not that is totally fine). Find a room with some space to move (you may have to move some furniture around and make sure there is no cords or things you might trip over) and place your device on the floor so I can see your full body as you are moving. You are going to need something to use as a barre that you can hold onto (usually chairs work best unless you have a portable barre). Other than that you are all set and ready to get moving!
Supply List
-Soft ballet shoes if accessible, otherwise socks can work
-Comfortable clothing
-Water bottle, if desirable
-Ballet Barre (if you don't have a barre you can use a wall/ chair/ any piece of furniture around waist-height, accessible in your home)
