US Grade Kindergarten - 3
The ocean in home to more than 500 diverse species of sharks. While there are some things that all sharks have in common, every shark has characteristics and behaviors that make them unique. In this multi-day class, we will learn all about 16 amazing species of sharks.
This class meets 2 times a week over 8 weeks.
Each lesson we explore the physical characteristics, behaviors, habitats and other fascinating facts about the following species of sharks:
Week 1: Great white and bull shark
Week 2: Whale and tiger shark
Week 3: Shortfin mako and great hammerhead shark
Week 4: Basking and thresher shark
Week 5: Wobbegong and goblin shark
Week 6: Lemon and zebra shark
Week 7: Cookie cutter and sand tiger shark
Week 8: Nurse and Greenland shark
Lessons will consist of an engaging presentation with photos, video clips and interesting facts about each shark species. Learners are encouraged to share their previous knowledge, ask questions and discuss their opinions about each shark species.
Learners will receive an optional All About Sharks graphic organizer printable prior to class.Other Details

I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and 10 years of experience working with preschool- 5th grade students in an elementary school environment. I also have over 3 years of experience working with children aged 3-16 years old as an online ESL teacher.
While I have experience teaching all subjects, my passion is animal science. I have a lifetime of experience raising, rescuing and advocating for animals. I am so excited to share knowledge and appreciation for all animals with my students.
