This is a live painting class that we will be sketching our design and painting together, using different camera views. We will discuss the techniques to be used prior to painting. Students will learn a few different watercolor/inking techniques that work well together. We will discuss the positive elements of the program as we sketch. The materials required for this class will be posted in the supply section. Prior knowledge of Avatar is not mandatory, but will be helpful to understand the painting.

Watercolor paper (thicker is better) Watercolor paints pencil eraser ruler paper towel black waterproof marker/pen White gel ink pen (gel pens work wonderfully over watercolors) White crayon *A properly covered surface! We don’t want to ruin equipment or furniture. Please print and trace the Aang silhouette in the classroom onto your watercolor paper prior to class :) This will go right in the center of your paper. You may leave it outlined in pencil.

*Lori King (Ms. Lori - She/Her) is a graduate of F.I.T in NYC. She worked in different areas of the design industry since 1991, from illustration, pattern making, garment construction to designing full story boards for buyers. She tutors Fashion Illustration to help other students complete their professional portfolios before their interviews. Lori is also a Polymer Clay artist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator.

*M Hopkins (Teacher M - They/Them) is a professional, published artist who creates comics and illustrations with a love for color theory.

*Appiffany Joiner-McNeil (Mrs. Appiffany or Mrs. AJ - She/Her) Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, Cum Laude. She holds a Masters of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Teaching.
She brings STEM and psychology to the platform, with science projects, labs, and experiments.
As a member of the Society for Science, she will further extend students' curiosity into the STEM field without the restrictions of specific curriculums.
