In this class students will practice counting syllables and will learn how to use a 5-7-5 syllable format to write a haiku. Prior knowledge of syllables would be beneficial for students taking this class. The students will work together to brainstorm a list of words pertaining to autumn and will discuss their favorite things about fall. Students will then be able to use the completed list in order to start writing his or her own haiku. The students will also learn a little bit about the history of the haiku poetry form.
Learning Goals

I am certified to teach grades PreK-6th. I taught five years of kindergarten before becoming a stay at home mom. I love being home with my children but I missed the classroom so I started looking into online teaching! I have taught online classes for the past three years. I love teaching and I'm so excited to meet your child in the classroom! I believe that fun is key to a love of learning and my hope is to help your child develop that love of learning that will carry them throughout their life!
I have three children who are nine, seven, and one years old. I love to bake, read, and go hiking with my husband and children.
I can't wait to share my love of learning with your learner! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
