In this American Sign Language Self Paced Course, there will be no in person meetings. The class will include four well known stories, one posted per week by video in the classroom. Each story will include a print out, signed vocabulary that will be practiced so the learner can follow along with the story, and a signed story that will be voiced while signed. Let’s discuss how story telling in American Sign Language is set up and how important our expressions are. Let’s become the characters. Stories are as follows: Week One: There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly Week Two: The Three Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf Week Three: Goldilocks and the Three Bears Week Four: Three Billy Goats Gruff In addition because there are so many different versions Of these stories, learners will be asked to think about their favorite versions. This is a beginner course so no pervious ASL experience required. Weekly Kahoot! Links will be provided, one for each story to test on signs learned for the week! Signs will be introduced at a slow beginner pace and the students will then be able to enjoy fun ASL storytelling!
