This is a social class. We will be using our ASL knowledge to communicate with each other silently. I will be teaching new signs to students who use fingerspelling when they don't know a sign. I will also have topics to start conversations each week. This class is meant for students to get to know one another socially and enjoy the language usage. All skill levels welcome, though those with more skill may find it easier to communicate. We will use our voices as little as possible, depending on ASL skills and fingerspelling.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach American Sign Language, both vocabulary and the actual language. I studied education in college, and earned a degree in deaf education. Later in life, I lost my hearing, so my knowledge of ASL and deaf culture has expanded!
I believe education should be both professional and enjoyable. If I enjoy teaching, the student enjoys learning!
I have five daughters and have homeschooled them from the start. Now I share my love of ASL and show choir with the local homeschooling community.
In addition, I'm a writer. While I'm currently writing a children's book, you can find my writings on my website.
