Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
ASL: Dr. Seuss books teaches American Sign Language vocabulary. Your student can choose to take 4 classes over 4 days or 1 class every week for 4 weeks. Together, we will interpret favorite Dr. Seuss books, allowing students to learn ASL faster. Class length varies from 20-25 mins. Students need no prior experience or knowledge. Experience ASL vocabulary through detailed explanations of hand signs and repetition. It is my joy to teach you ASL in a fun and interesting format. Come sign with me!

Lesson 1:
ASL: The Foot Book
 When my son was little, he loved reading Dr. Seuss' "The Foot Book". Learn related American Sign Language vocabulary. Sign the book together!

Other Details

Learning Needs
ASL helps students with multiple learning needs by reinforcing vocabulary. Research has shown incorporating sign language with spoken language improves comprehension, expression, and communication for special education learners.
Supply List
If you want to follow along, you can get Dr. Seuss' books: The Eye Book, The Foot Book, In a People House, and Hop on Pop. You certainly do not need these books to fully enjoy and participate in this class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have taught Little Signers ASL to preschool and elementary students over the past 10 years. I have a Masters in Education with a certification in K-6th, biology, and earth science. I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology with an Environmental Studies minor. I am a former public school teacher of 5 yrs and homeschool teacher of 10 yrs. I completed ASL I, II, III, & V in college and interpret for a Deaf family in church. I am also a 200 hr certified Yoga Teacher with additional certifications in Kids Yoga, Mommy Me Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga. In addition to teaching on Outschool, I teach a weekly live online Little Signers class.
