Class Experience
The course will begin by teaching the ASL alphabet, numbers, colors, days and some basic principles of ASL. The class size will be limited to 6 learners so that ample attention can be given to each individual. Class participation is an integral part of this learning experience and students are encouraged to practice using their ASL skills outside of class. I have chosen to use We Can Sign by Tara Adams for this class. It has excellent illustrations for each sign I will teach. I will also add fun activities that students can do outside of class to practice what we are learning.

The following textbook will be used in class as we learn about Deaf culture and as a resource to review signs taught each week.
Students need to purchase the book before the first class and have it with them each class meeting.
