Beginner Level
This 4-week, self-paced class allows you to learn American Sign Language vocabulary in a fun, themed-based format. Learn about bear characteristics, habitats, food, and behaviors through ASL and interpreting books and songs. Class length varies from 20-30 mins. Students need no prior experience or knowledge. Experience ASL through detailed explanations of hand signs and repetition. It is my joy to share ASL as a second language and to help bridge the gap between hearing and Deaf communities. Learn American Sign Language vocabulary as we learn about polar bear characteristics, habitats, food, and behaviors. Sign the book, Polar Star, by Sally Grindley. 30 mins of video lessons

Learning Needs
ASL helps students with multiple learning needs by reinforcing vocabulary. Research has shown incorporating sign language with spoken language improves comprehension, expression, and communication for special education learners.
Supply List
You are welcome to get the books: "Berenstain Bears On the Moon" and "Polar Star" to follow along. However, neither are required for class!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have taught Little Signers ASL to preschool and elementary students over the past 10 years. I have a Masters in Education with a certification in K-6th, biology, and earth science. I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology with an Environmental Studies minor. I am a former public school teacher of 5 yrs and homeschool teacher of 10 yrs. I completed ASL I, II, III, & V in college and interpret for a Deaf family in church. I am also a 200 hr certified Yoga Teacher with additional certifications in Kids Yoga, Mommy Me Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga.
