1 hour per week. Homework assignments in this course will be diverse and based on classroom activities. Each week, students will have the option to engage in various forms of homework, including practicing their skills through provided links or uploading videos of themselves completing sign language assignments. Participation in these assignments is not mandatory but is highly beneficial for skill enhancement. Additionally, some homework may be accessible through Nearpod, for which no account creation is required. The intention is to offer students flexible opportunities to practice and reinforce their learning every week, although completing these assignments is not a requirement for all students.Assessment
In this class, assessments are optional and not a mandatory requirement for all students. The course schedule, as outlined above, includes 2 or 3 assessments during the section. These may take the form of quizzes or tests. Students have the flexibility to choose whether they want to participate in these assessments or opt out. ASL Kids Club! 🎉- SOME AUDIO - HEARING & DEAF TEACHERS Join us for a fun and interactive journey into American Sign Language! Our ASL class is a 10 week long course where we dive into the world of signing, making it a blast to learn and use ASL. 👩🏽💻 Check out our Syllabus for subjects we will learn! This is a live class that is fun and interactive. We will take turns signing on camera, so it is important to keep your camera on. The teacher may assign students words to review before coming to class. In class, we will work on perfecting signs, movements, palm orientation, and correct facial expressions. In this ASL class, depending on the teacher they may sometimes speak, but other times they may not use their voice. Here is a general breakdown of our schedule and what to expect each week. For the actual topics we will cover, please refer to our syllabus. We're excited to meet you and help you on your journey to learning ASL. General Schedule for a 30-Minute Class First 5 minutes: Review previous material Introduce new topic Next 15 minutes: Learn and practice new content Next 5 to 10 minutes: Engage in interactive activity or game Final 5 minutes: Quick assessment or review Assign homework

Ms.Trina is the founder of ASL Kids Club and has over 20 years of experience teaching and working in school districts with both Deaf and hearing children. This extensive background has allowed her to hand-select each teacher to ensure that students receive top-tier instruction.
Our educators boast impressive credentials and experiences:
- One teacher has spent over two decades as an Educational Interpreter and Tutor, working closely with deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Their passion for sign language is driven by personal experiences with Deaf family members.
- Another teacher is proficient in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, American Sign Language, and Nicaraguan Sign Language. With over 10 years of teaching experience, they have served in various roles such as teaching, assisting, and mentoring students and interpreters.
- We also have a Deaf educator with expertise in speech, lipreading, and sign language. Their patience and kindness have positively impacted many students through their work as a tutor and assistant teacher at the School for the Deaf.
Together, our team is committed to providing an enriching ASL learning experience that accommodates diverse backgrounds and fosters growth.
