ASL 3: Intermediate American Sign Language 10-Week Course (Ages 13-18)

Over the span of 10 weeks, this course will empower children to enhance their existing ASL skills. Each section of the course is instructed by Deaf teachers and ASL Tutors, ensuring a rich and immersive learning experience.

What's included

10 live meetings
5 in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. We encourage students to regularly check the classroom for assigned homework. This homework is designed to strengthen what they're learning in class. Additionally, they will find links to digital programs that can help them study the words they've learned during the course.
Assessment
This course will help you learn more ASL signs and get better at having different kinds of conversations in ASL. You'll have quizzes and a final test to show what you've learned.
Certificate of Completion
Grades will be based on quizzes and reviews assigned to students. While grades are optional and students do not have to complete the homework, doing so is very helpful for their progress.

Fingerspelling, Numbers & Common Phrases
 Refresh and solidify your understanding of the ASL alphabet, basic numerical signs and common sentences.

 In this unit, students will be learning about hand shapes, Learn to answer simple introduction questions.

Vocabulary Calendar, Time, & Routine

Several of our teachers are Deaf, bringing invaluable perspectives and authentic experiences to our program. This diversity enhances our teaching approach, providing students with a deeper understanding and appreciation of American Sign Language and Deaf culture.

Ms.Trina is the founder of ASL Kids Club and has over 20 years of experience teaching and working in school districts with both Deaf and hearing children. This extensive background has allowed her to hand-select each teacher to ensure that students receive top-tier instruction.

Our educators boast impressive credentials and experiences:
- One teacher has spent over two decades as an Educational Interpreter and Tutor, working closely with deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Their passion for sign language is driven by personal experiences with Deaf family members.
- Another teacher is proficient in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, American Sign Language, and Nicaraguan Sign Language. With over 10 years of teaching experience, they have served in various roles such as teaching, assisting, and mentoring students and interpreters.
- We also have a Deaf educator with expertise in speech, lipreading, and sign language. Their patience and kindness have positively impacted many students through their work as a tutor and assistant teacher at the School for the Deaf.
Together, our team is committed to providing an enriching ASL learning experience that accommodates diverse backgrounds and fosters growth.
