Week 1Lesson 1📖 Review Fingerspelling, Numbers & Common PhrasesRefresh and solidify your understanding of the ASL alphabet, basic numerical signs and common sentences.Week 2Lesson 2Hand Shapes and ParametersVocabulary: School & Education-un3 In this unit, students will be learning about hand shapes, 1 and 2 of the 5 sign parameters. Learn to answer simple introduction questions.Week 3Lesson 3Asking Questions in ASLVocabulary Animals, Home, & Transportation un4 Students will be able to answer simple introduction questions, students will be learning the last 3 of the 5 five sign parameters.Week 4Lesson 4ASL Word Order & ConversationsVocabulary Colors, Time, & Routine un5 Students will be learning ASL word order and be able to sign numbers 21-30.Week 5Lesson 5ASL Word Order & Conversations Part 2Vocabulary Colors, Time, & Routine un5 Students will continue learning ASL word order and be able to sign numbers 21-30.Week 6Lesson 6Review & PracticeStudents will review and practice all vocabulary up to this point. Review things such as word order, numbers and fingerspelling.Week 7Lesson 7Game & Quiz DayTest your knowledge and skills learned so far with an interactive quiz.Week 8Lesson 8ASL Sentence TypesVocabulary Sports & Music Students will be learning ASL sentence types, be able to ask questions accurately in ASL.Week 9Lesson 9ASL Grammar and IndexingVocabulary Friends & Family Students will be learning ASL grammar and how to index.Week 10Lesson 10Conversation Practice & Directional VerbsPhysical Features & Clothing Master signs for describing physical features and various clothing items.Week 11Lesson 11Verbs & ConversationVocabulary Careers, Jobs and Community Service Students will be learning verbs in ASL, using them in a conversation.Week 12Lesson 12Putting it All TogetherStudents will be lead in a conversation /interview in ASL to make use of everything they have learned so far.

Our instructors include nationally certified interpreters, seasoned Deaf educators, Deaf and HH experienced tutors, ensuring that every student receives the highest quality education. Several of our teachers are Deaf, bringing invaluable perspectives and authentic experiences to our program. This diversity enhances our teaching approach, providing students with a deeper understanding and appreciation of American Sign Language and Deaf culture. Ms.Trina is the founder of ASL Kids Club and has over 20 years of experience teaching and working in school districts with both Deaf and hearing children. This extensive background has allowed her to hand-select each teacher to ensure that students receive top-tier instruction. Our educators boast impressive credentials and experiences: - One teacher has spent over two decades as an Educational Interpreter and Tutor, working closely with deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Their passion for sign language is driven by personal experiences with Deaf family members. - Another teacher is proficient in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, American Sign Language, and Nicaraguan Sign Language. With over 10 years of teaching experience, they have served in various roles such as teaching, assisting, and mentoring students and interpreters. - We also have a Deaf educator with expertise in speech, lipreading, and sign language. Their patience and kindness have positively impacted many students through their work as a tutor and assistant teacher at the School for the Deaf. Together, our team is committed to providing an enriching ASL learning experience that accommodates diverse backgrounds and fosters growth.

This homework is designed to strengthen what they're learning in class. Additionally, they will find links to digital programs that can help them study the words they've learned during the course.Assessment
Frequency: available upon requestDetails: This course will help you learn more ASL signs and get better at having different kinds of conversations in ASL. You'll have quizzes and a final test to show what you've learned.Grading
Frequency: available upon requestDetails: Grades will be based on quizzes and reviews assigned to students. While grades are optional and students do not have to complete the homework, doing so is very helpful for their progress.
Completion of our ASL 1 & 2 courses.
Students must have their cameras on for each lesson to ensure they can see each other’s hands while signing.
We will be utilizing external websites like Kahoots, Gimkit and YouTube to enhance the learning experience. These platforms will be employed for interactive games and to manage slide show presentations, flashcards, videos, and quiz games.
