ASL Kids Club Course! 🤟🏼- SOME VOICE- DEAF & HH TEACHERS Welcome to our exciting 20-week journey into American Sign Language (ASL) for high school students! Over the course of this class, you will dive into the fundamentals of ASL in the first 10 weeks, focusing on basic vocabulary, everyday phrases, and essential grammar. You'll learn to fingerspell, use numbers, and communicate simple sentences, all while exploring the rich culture of the Deaf community. Through interactive activities, storytelling, and role-playing, you will build a strong foundation in ASL 1, enabling you to engage in simple conversations and understand basic ASL structure. ** JOIN WEEK 10 FOR ASL 2** In weeks 10-20 the second half of our course, we'll advance to ASL 2, where you'll expand your vocabulary and tackle more complex sentence structures. You will learn to describe events, express emotions, and use classifiers, enhancing your ability to communicate more detailed and nuanced ideas. We'll also delve into advanced grammar and real-world applications, preparing you for conversations about future plans, opinions, and problem-solving. By the end of the 20 weeks, you will be equipped with the skills to confidently interact using ASL in various contexts. Ms.Trina is the founder of ASL Kids Club and has over 20 years of experience teaching and working in school districts with both Deaf and hearing children. This extensive background has allowed her to hand-select each teacher to ensure that students receive top-tier instruction.
Our educators boast impressive credentials and experiences:
- One teacher has spent over two decades as an Educational Interpreter and Tutor, working closely with deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Their passion for sign language is driven by personal experiences with Deaf family members.
- Another teacher is proficient in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, American Sign Language, and Nicaraguan Sign Language. With over 10 years of teaching experience, they have served in various roles such as teaching, assisting, and mentoring students and interpreters.
- We also have a Deaf educator with expertise in speech, lipreading, and sign language. Their patience and kindness have positively impacted many students through their work as a tutor and assistant teacher at the School for the Deaf.
Together, our team is committed to providing an enriching ASL learning experience that accommodates diverse backgrounds and fosters growth.
