Class Experience

In this on-going class, students will will meet twice-a-week and learn the ASL alphabet, numbers, how to introduce themselves, basic conversation, common words and phrases, animals, food, school signs, sports and hobbies, weather, time words, calendar words, holidays, verbs, adjectives and much more! This class is geared towards new to ASL learners. I do have classes for other levels, ages and flex classes that offer flexible schedules. In this class, students will learn by using repetition and fun activities. Students may participate in a show and tell throughout the course on certain days. The class will learn signs related to each students show and tell. Students are able to enroll into this class at any time during this course as we review past material at random and do not need prior signs to learn the new signs. I provide handouts in my classes. These handouts will be posted at the end of class and are pictures of the signs we learned that day in class. These are intended as an added resource for practice. New students will get handouts that are needed. Students will also gain knowledge of the deaf and hard-of-hearing world. I am fluent in ASL as I have profoundly deaf parents and have been signing my whole life. Because of this, I am passionate about teaching the world ASL. I have years experience teaching and a BA degree.
