In this class learners will develop their understanding of composition using visual elements and principles to discuss an art work. Visual elements are; colour, value, shape, form, line, texture and space. Visual principles are; contrast, movement, unity (harmony), emphasis (focal point), pattern and rhythm. Learners will also learn about the context of the work and the intention of the artist. Contextual information can be personal, societal, political, cultural an/or historical.
