Ever wonder what makes rollercoasters look so exciting? Or a city skyline so interesting? In this interactive art class students will discover the three elements of design: lines, shape and color that help make our world such an amazing place! During each of the three classes students will focus on 1 element, look at works from art history and explore real life examples these elements, then we'll create an artwork inspired by Week 1 will be all about line! We'll identify various types of line, learn a few tricks to help us remember vertical, horizontal and diagonal and we'll even discuss how some lines are used in math and science! In this week's art project we'll create a 3d theme park using paper lines! Week 2 will focus on shapes! We'll learn that shapes are really just made of lines and we'll look at the difference between geometric shapes vs. organic shapes before creating an artwork using geometric shapes and lines.
