In this class, students will learn about the history of art, different artists, and art appreciation. Learners will create works of art based on inspiration of the artists and different time periods featured each week. No prior art or art history knowledge required. *This course is intended for siblings only and requires atleast 2 learners. In this class, each week we study 2 artists during a specific art time or art movement in history. For about half the class time, we discuss about each artist and view works of art by booth artists. The remainder of the class time is used to create an art project based on one of the artists or influenced by the art movement. Please have the supplies for each week ready before class begins. Week 1: All about Impressionism: Claude Monet and Seurat Week 2: All about Post Impressionism: Gogh and Gauguin Week 3: All about Renaissance Art: Da Vinci and Michel Angelo Week 4: All about Modern Art: Mondrain and Andy Warhol

Hello, My name is Christina Casanova and I love to teach young students the wonders of art and it's history. I have been an Art teacher for the past 5 years and have a BA in Art from SUNY Empire State College. I believe that students can learn a lot from art history and have fun trying new and exciting art techniques! I make sure that my students are engaged and are having fun in the process. I believe that having children create and express their creativity will allow them to view the world in a different way, as well as focus them for other areas of study. Having two young kids of my own, I have been able to create a curriculum that explores the elements and principles of art for all ages as well as math.
