In this art history class, inspired on the classical concept of the European Grand Tour, Learner visits six (6) major European museums, learning about their history, traveling from ancient times to modern day discovering the works of selected Master Artists, their styles and media, from antiquity to abstractionism, and discovering each museum's most famous resident (art piece). Part of the works selected include masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and The Three Graces. Learner will develop a classical Art History & Cultural Appreciation through the many examples covered. The class is structured following an introduction to each museum, the city, showing the transportation we may take to the museum and the country's famous dishes and dessert, followed by a rich slide selection per museum, and then presenting the Most Famous Resident of each museum, ending with a museum related joke to lighten the heart. Class welcomes exchanges and Q&A so kids may express their vital curiosity. Teaching style is intended for the art sensitive child, kind and inclusive, emphasizing love for the arts, with captivating learning & discovery. For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, I offer semi-private classes (capped at 3) and require open mics and video so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material. Learners will interact with teacher and each other throughout the class. This class is one of a group of Art History classes, which follow a central theme (like dogs, cats, horses, families, Christmas, and more) and may be taken as a complete group, as in a camp format, or separately. No previous experience is required.
