Beginner Level
In this class, learners will be introduced to the Elements of art - line, shape, color, form, texture, space, and value. In each lesson, these elements will be broken down into simple and easily understood ideas so they are able to be easily mastered by students. Each element will be introduced at the beginning of the class with a small, fun introduction by me that may include games, video clips, skits, read-alouds, and fun discussions. The element will be interacted with, defined, and identified in art itself. Students will then get to explore the element with me by creating their own project that focuses on that element while we talk through it. At the end, students will be able to show me and their virtual classmates the art they created.
Learning Goals
The students will learn the Elements of Art including: the definition, types of sub-sections of each element, and how they are used to create good art.
Students will create original artworks that intentionally incorporate all seven elements of art, demonstrating technical proficiency and creative expression.
