We will learn about indigenous arts while also exploring some culture, geography, and history of several countries as we explore the globe together! We will learn through discussion, literature, short videos, and of course hands-on through our art! The lessons will be engaging and content rich! This is an ongoing course that will continue through approximately 12 consecutive weeks. You may join at any time. Each week we will do a different art project to represent the country that we have learned about. The materials needed will be common craft materials that you may already have around the home and are somewhat flexible. There is no background knowledge required but fine motor skills are a must in this class. We will be cutting, pasting, weaving, drawing, etc. There is no homework required but if the student does not finish the project during our allotted class time, I would love to have the completed project emailed for evaluation. This is at your discretion. Learner progress is evaluated by class participation and the quality of the completed project. Feel free to message me with any questions. Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a very kind, friendly, positive and upbeat teacher. I am also very patient. I have been teaching a large group of homeschoolers for almost 10 yrs now. Art is absolutely my passion and my next favorite subject would definitely be history/culture. I feel so blessed to be able to bring those two together and get creative with students from all over the world! Not only do I teach the subject content of the curriculum but I love watching the students put their own spin on the project as they burst with creativity! I always encourage imagination in my classes!!
