Class Experience

In this winter festive 8-week Art and Craft Club, students will work on fun and easy winter art projects each week. All classes will be step-by-step guided.

We will draw, paint, color, cut, glue, and decorate a lot! To make craft projects we will use different media and materials. This is the time when students can use their favorite decorative supplies like sparkling beads, decorative paper, tassels, glitter, pompoms, modeling clay, ribbons, rhinestones, yarn, chenille stem pipe cleaner, and more that magically appears at home around this time of the year! We will learn to use different tools and techniques while making fun and exciting art projects.

Week 1 - Scandinavian Houses: We will reuse an old cardboard box (for example, from old cereal, cookie or pasta boxes) and a small wooden stick to make a mobile decoration that can be hanged on the wall.

Week 2 - Ice skating Birds: We will craft an adorable bird wearing ice skates made of paperclips.

Week 3 - Snowflakes: We will make unique looking snowflakes by using oil pastels, watercolors, and salt.

Week 4 - Snowbirds Origami. This is an origami paper-folding project.

Week 5 - Happy Snowman. We will finger paint the snowman, but instead of using regular paints, we will use modeling clay.

Week 6 - Exited Pinguin. We will craft an Advent calendar that students can follow while they are waiting for Christmas Day.

Week 7 - Evergreen Tree. This is the collage project - we will create a pine tree from colored or decorative paper.

Week 8 - Christmas Ornaments. We will make decorative ornaments.

Note: Please see the supply list below! I will remind you about the upcoming class and the supply list your child will be needing a week in advance.

My main principle - there are no mistakes and wrong decisions in the creative process! Everyone, even the smallest artist, has his own path. In my classes, I will not ask students to mindlessly repeat after me. I will show them step by step example so students can see different options, and will be able to bring their personal touches and ideas into their artwork.

Let's celebrate this Winter/Christmas season together!!

My name is Elena Galindo, and I am a children's book illustrator specializing in creating fun and whimsical digital illustrations in a playful and adorable style. I am excited to introduce myself and share a little bit about me with you.

I have been creating illustrations that bring stories to life with lively characters, cute and cheeky animals, and colorful landscapes. Children are my favorite audience, as they inspire and motivate me to create illustrations that can spark their imagination and ignite their curiosity.

In addition to creating illustrations, I also teach digital art to children. This has given me valuable insight into what children are interested in and what captures their attention. I am always looking for new ways to engage children with my illustrations

I have a bachelor’s and master's degree in Human Resources with a large portion being focused on training and development. I have also taken several art courses in painting techniques. Additionally, as a mother of two, I enjoy teaching my kids about art and languages. I show them the importance of cultural diversity and multicultural integration.

My philosophy is that everyone has the potential to be great. The importance is to guide students with fun and interactive courses to keep their focus on the task at hand.

I would love to be your paintbrush buddy and I hope to see you in my classes. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help.
