Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the location, capital, and a few facts about Germany, Mongolia, Tanzania, Australia, and Peru as they practice using fine motor skills to make artistic creations. Students will also have the opportunity to share their creations with their new friends!
I have been teaching geography for years in my own homeschool curriculum through unit studies. I greatly enjoy bringing art, music, science, geography, math, social studies and language arts into a lesson that is fun and engaging. I also love learning about different cultures and trying out different traditional recipes. I have learned that through native stories, food, and music, students can connect personally with a country, engaging their curiosity to learn even more about it.
Students may need additional time after class to finish working on their craft. They will also receive a fact sheet and a coloring sheet after class each day.
Students will need: popsicle sticks scissors glue glue stick crayons/markers construction paper in a variety of colors canvas or heavy watercolor paper variety of paint colors including red, orange, yellow, black, and blue cotton swabs cardboard yarn masking tape daily printable (available each day before class on the classroom page) optional: glitter, sequins, dot markers, small pom poms and stickers
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students may need help with scissors, paint, and glue depending on their age and skill level.
