In this class, students will be introduced to the basic foundations of argumentative writing such as claims, reasons, evidence, persuasive techniques, transitional phrases and maintaining an objective tone. Additionally, we will discuss evaluating sources and citing evidence to support claims and thesis statements. Lastly, as a class we will analyze sample essays and discuss how to organize and format our ideas in paragraphs. Students will be provided with our class notes in a PDF version,...
