Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
Students will be introduced to the letters of the alphabet in the Arabic language. Students will learn the names of each letter, the multiple sounds that each letter makes as well as a vocabulary word for each letter. This class is structured with a "circle time" approach. I will use flashcards, body movements and a form of chanting to promote excitement, interest and memorization. Students will be encouraged to interact with voice, hand and body movements throughout the lesson. Students do not need any knowledge or experience to participate in and gain from this class.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to and become familiar with the names, appearance and various sounds of each letter of the Arabic alphabet. They will obtain a 28 word vocabulary base in the Arabic language. They will learn to produce sounds that do not exist in the English language.

I have completed 15 post secondary credits in the Arabic language at North Central University and The University of Minnesota. I taught Arabic to children in grades Pre-K through grade 2 at a charter school for four years and a private school for seven years.

Bassant
My name is Bassant, and I hold a master’s degree in education with over 12 years of experience in the education field. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to fostering a love of learning in my students and equipping them with the skills they need to succeed. My teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by my Montessori certification, which emphasizes student-centered learning, and I also hold a certificate in learning difficulties, allowing me to effectively support students with diverse learning needs.

My journey in teaching has been enriched by my proficiency in multiple languages, specifically English and Arabic. With a strong academic background and extensive practical experience, I have developed a comprehensive skill set that enables me to create engaging and effective language programs.

As a native Arabic speaker with professional proficiency, I have experience teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. I employ cultural immersion techniques to enhance language learning, providing students with a rich and authentic experience.

Mrs. Sondos
Mrs. Sondos teaches Arabic at Polyglots Academy. She is half Egyptian and half Syrian and can understand almost every Arabic dialect out there. She is a tutor and part time teacher. Mrs. Sondos graduated from Texas A&M in 2021 and I has been tutoring and teaching since 2019. She believes that everyone, regardless of age, deserves a fair chance at learning. She's seen students struggle and then succeed and has realized that the most important key to success is building a strong foundation in the subject they’re trying to learn. She wants to be the one to help others build and maintain that strong foundation that they’ll take with them wherever they go. She has experience teaching kids as young as 4 years old how to read, write and speak Arabic at the basic levels.
