Assessment
Learner progress will be assessed by the teacher daily during each lesson as she sees that students are becoming comfortable, independent and fluent in their reading. Comprehension will be monitored regularly through questions and answers as well as activities on the slides that require students to demonstrate understanding. Writing will improve as students keep a regular journal that will show their progression over time. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class, their own independent reading, as well as how they are using learned information and reading techniques outside of class.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⭐Course Overview⭐ ▬▬▬▬▬▬
Welcome to our ongoing class where students can embark on a reading adventure at the beginning level of the Arabic language. Follow along as we read authentic stories from Arabic culture. Each week, we will dive into captivating stories featuring school-age children as they explore the wonders of their everyday world. From family and home to school, the park, zoo, friends, pets, and more, our topics will create meaningful connections to students' daily lives.

As the instructors, we will utilize engaging slides to ensure clear visibility of the content. Our classes will consist of letter activities, vocabulary review, story reading, comprehension exercises, and writing tasks. Some writing will be done on the screen, while other activities will require paper, pencils, crayons, and markers at home.

At Polyglots Academy, we firmly believe that reading should be enjoyable, so we will make our way through each adventure in a fun and interactive manner. We will discuss the story's events, satisfy our curiosity, and relate our discoveries to our own experiences. Students will actively engage with their peers and the teacher throughout the lessons, fostering continuous learning through conversation, writing, reading, and interactive slide activities.

Mrs. Haywood - I have completed 15 post secondary credits in the Arabic language at North Central University and The University of Minnesota. I have been teaching basic Arabic reading and writing skills for 10 years . I taught Arabic to children in grades Pre-K through grade 2 at a charter school for four years as well as a private school that I founded for seven years. This is my second year year teaching Arabic on Outschool. I regularly meet with Arabic tutors to increase my skills and knowledge in this subject as well as to gain experience with various spoken dialects. I currently speak and teach Modern Standard Arabic.

Bassant
My name is Bassant, and I hold a master’s degree in education with over 12 years of experience in the education field. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to fostering a love of learning in my students and equipping them with the skills they need to succeed. My teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by my Montessori certification, which emphasizes student-centered learning, and I also hold a certificate in learning difficulties, allowing me to effectively support students with diverse learning needs.

My journey in teaching has been enriched by my proficiency in multiple languages, specifically English and Arabic. With a strong academic background and extensive practical experience, I have developed a comprehensive skill set that enables me to create engaging and effective language programs.

As a native Arabic speaker with professional proficiency, I have experience teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. I employ cultural immersion techniques to enhance language learning, providing students with a rich and authentic experience.
