What's included
6 live meetings
5 in-class hoursHomework
1-2 hours per week. Students will complete projects in Minecraft and write paragraphs. They shouldn't take more than an hour but if the student wants to get creative it could take longer. Student's also complete a quiz and review in Quizlet.Class Experience
This is a project-based course and we will meet twice a week. It is not meant to be a complete immersion class because we will need to use English to help with technical problems. But we will be talking in Spanish a lot and writing paragraphs in Spanish. The first class will be dedicated to learning new Spanish words and phrases. At the end of the class, we will introduce the project. The realm will be open for these student's going into the future but they must respect other student's work and my class schedules. They will be kicked off if they are on during class. Projects are presented in the second class of the week. After presentations are completed we will socialize and complete group activities. **While both classes will happen on zoom, the project presentation class (2nd class) MIGHT require two devices. If a student plays on their computer, they can usually have both applications open. However, if they are playing on an Xbox they will need something for a zoom call. Be aware that Playstation doesn't allow access to realms. Anyone playing on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows 10, Windows Phone, Amazon Fire tablets or Gear VR can play together. Please make sure that you have the bedrock version and NOT JAVA. Java will not work. WEEK ONE: The first week will be dedicated to learning about houses. In the first lesson, we will talk about basic vocabulary relating to the number of floors or stories that a house has. We will also learn some directional words. Then for our second lesson, we will focus on the project and build small houses. WEEK TWO: The second week will be dedicated to rooms in the house. In the first lesson, we will learn about the kitchen, the living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms. For our second lesson, we will divide our houses into rooms and decorate them. WEEK THREE: The third week will be dedicated to the garden. We will talk about verbs to describe growth and different plants we can grow. For the project meeting, we will create a small garden.
Learning Goals
We will learn functional vocabulary about everyday life. For example, we will spend time building a house. We can learn about a bedroom, a kitchen, a living room, etc. Then we will learn about houses with several floors. We will also create a garden.

Parental Guidance
Since this class does involve video games and other students it is important that parents supervise as much as possible. Minecraft is a pretty innocent game and I will be providing a private space to play with the kids so they will only interact with those in my specific classes. I will have limited availability with the class and I will have a backup for the realm to make sure that no student progress is destroyed.
Supply List
A Minecraft account and subscription is required. I will provide the realm that we will use for class but the student must be ready play online. You do not need a subscription but you must have an internet connection. You can create a Minecraft account and see pricing here: https://my.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft/#register We will complete weekly projects and the students must type out or handwrite paragraphs in Spanish for the presentation class.
