Class Experience

It’s time to go apple picking! In this one-time class, we will read a story, “Apple Countdown” by: Joan Holub, about counting apples. Students will each have a turn answering comprehension questions throughout the story. Then, students will continue to develop math skills through hands-on activities. We will first count apples together using a 10 frame template. Lastly, we will create and count our own apples using playdough. This sensory activity is a wonderful way to help students practice developing fine motor skills that are essential for tracing and writing.

I can’t wait for you to join me on this fun apple adventure!- Miss Audrey

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I'm Ms. Audrey and I'm very excited to be your teacher on Outschool. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with Reading and ESOL Endorsements. I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I began teaching Preschool in 2012 after I graduated. Then I taught Kindergarten for 3 years and through this experience I learned that teaching primary aged learners is my passion. I went on to teach 5th grade Language Arts, Writing, and Social Studies for 2 years.

I would like to take my experience of public school teaching and apply it to my Outschool classes in a fun and new way! I believe that students learn best when they are engaged in hands on activities and that each learner has the opportunity to learn through various learning strategies.

I love all things Disney and I am an annual passholder for Walt Disney World. I will incorporate my love for Disney into my classes because I think it's great way to build connections with my students! I am so excited to share my love of learning with you and I can't wait to meet your child soon!
