includedClass Experience
This is not a beginners class. It is assumed that you have computer science and coding experience before joining. You will also need a base knowledge of polymorphism, inheritance, composition, and aggregation. We will cover object oriented programming before analyzing existing code. There will be examples of past APCS questions with detailed answers and what to look out for during the exam. Topics covered ...(not an exhaustive list) ...control statements ...1D, 2D, 3D static arrays ...ArrayList ...Recursion ...polymorphism ...aggregation ...composition ...inheritance ...much more You will be required to have a working IDE, and I recommend NetBeans or Eclipse (there is a link on this page for the NetBeans/Java bundle). We will end the class with sample exams so that you can get a feel for where you stand and retention level. This class will consist of lectures, projects, quiz questions, and sample AP exams.
Learning Goals
Students will code and run programs starting with advanced logic. The class will proceed from control structures including 'if', 'if-else', and the 3 basic loops through and including recursion. The student will be prepared for the next level of programming logic.Topics covered will include control statements, 1D, 2D, and 3D static arrays, ArrayList, Recursion, polymorphism, aggregation, composition, inheritance, and much more.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from University of Central Florida
I have been teaching for 30+ years. For more than 20 years, I have taught AP Computer Science A and all the classes that lead to that level. Courses that I have taught include Intro to Programming using Java Applets, Programming I and II, Honors C++, AP Computer Science A, Lego Robotics, FTC Robotics, and FRC Robotics. As you can see, there are courses for learners of all levels. I understand that not all students learn the same way, so I incorporate kinetic, visual, and auditory learning styles in my lessons. Hear it, see it, do it.
I love ending classes with a project that the students can continue building on their own. The projects are real world applications so they can relate to the practical use of applications. I encourage independent research on all levels.
