New to Outschool? Feel free to use this referral code for $20 off your first class: MVALLARTA20 Or use this link: https://outschool.com/?signup=true&usid=bt9IesoB&utm_campaign=share_invite_link In this 8-week course, students focus on how to draw hairstyles for an anime character. This is broken down into different categories such as male vs. female, different age groups, utilizing accessories, texture, volume, angles, and more! Students will leave this class feeling confident that they can create their own anime character. Although this class focuses on the hair, students will leave understanding proportions, measuring, angles, basic drawing concepts, and more for the full anime head! Consider this as the next level up from the Anime Head class. Students will not learn a particular style of anime, but will be exposed to multiple anime sources. Students should expect to draw multiple sketches within a session. This class is designed for the anime fan who wants to take their drawings to the next level. Art experience is not necessary but helpful. 💥 Week 1: Understanding to map out the face for a child, a teenager, and an adult. Learning the basics of adding hair to these three characters. Both male & female faces. 💥 Week 2: Female hair: Popular hairstyles for females; buns, braids, & ponytails. 💥 Week 3: Male hair: Popular hairstyles for males; focusing on symmetry, receding hairlines, cowlicks, & widow’s peaks. 💥 Week 4: Understanding five different angles; front, 3/4, side, quarter rear, and back. 💥 Week 5: Utilizing accessories & add-ons; bows, horns, animal ears, mythical ears, antlers, antennas, etc. 💥 Week 6: Utilizing shapes & textured hair. Working with different face shapes, hair shapes, texture and volume. 💥 Week 7: Executing movement in hair. 💥 Week 8: Your own unique character! This class will be presented via Keynote and is an art based class. This is a FLEX class and is PRE-RECORDED. This means students will watch the pre-recorded video. Students will engage in questions, class discussions, and art assignments. Homework is optional. Students will be encouraged to share their artwork and engage with their fellow classmates in questions and discussions. Why Flex? 🔰 Flex classes are fantastic for international students (Mrs. V is located in Texas). 🔰 Students can work at their own pace. No need to wait on others or feel rushed. 🔰 Flex classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules. 🔰 This class is a "flex" class, meaning there is no live component, and all interactions between students and the teacher happens on the class page. The live version links are at the beginning of this class description. FLEX FORMAT: 🔹 Video Content: Weekly videos with a step-by-step breakdown of the art assignments are posted. Some videos will have a 20 to 35 minute duration. The work time for the student will be roughly an hour long. Students will review the video. 🔹 Discussion Prompt/Question/Check-in: Students respond to a weekly discussion prompt and/or question(s) posted by the teacher. 🔹 Complete Artwork: Students spend time completing their sketches. 🔹 Submit Artwork: Students are required to post photos of their completed sketches in the classroom on the designated post. If the student would prefer to keep this private, they can post privately to the teacher as well. Keep in mind, sharing artwork is essential in a flex class. 🔹 Feedback: The teacher and students post positive feedback on each other’s work. Mrs. V offers private and public feedback at the request of the students. Individualized feedback will not be given unless directly requested. Maturity, kindness, and thoughtful comments are encouraged and cultivated in the classroom. #creative
