In "Animals of the Sonoran Desert," learners will be introduced to 10 animals of the Sonoran Desert. We will study the following subjects: 1) gila monsters 2) diamondback rattlesnakes 3) javelinas 4) coati 5) roadrunners 6) desert tortoise 7) lizards 8) gila woodpeckers 9) elf owls 10) hummingbirds Content: Learners will discover how these animals live, build their homes, eat, protect themselves, interact with their environments, and more! Teaching Method: This information will be instructed using a slideshow, showing photos, and playing sound clips. The teacher will engage learner participation through asking questions, prompting responses, and giving specific feedback. Learner Actions: Learners will be invited to participate in the following ways: sharing comments and questions, engaging in content by commening through the chat feature, drawing or writing notes during the lesson, and giving gestures like thumbs-up or down. Learners may create art about the animals as they listen as well! Online resources will be shared with students interested in researching these animals further. Learning Environment and Behavioral Expectations: The teacher will foster a caring and inclusive digital classroom in which every learner is valued. Learners are expected to use kindness and consideration in their words and choices.
