US Grade 5 - 8
Every day, there are new discoveries made in the world of science. Specifically, in Zoology, we are constantly learning about new species, new behaviours, and new information about current species we may not have known before. In this ongoing class, we will be focusing on what’s happening in the animal kingdom and discuss the latest happenings as a class. Each week, we will be discussing a recent wildlife article. The general overview of this class will be as follows: 1) Introductions 2) Brainstorming - What do we already know about this topic? 3) Predictions as to what the article may be about 4) Read the article as a class 5) Article discussion ***Please read the two important points below regarding the selected articles*** 1) Due to ads that I have no control over on the websites in which the articles are published, the link to the article will be sent directly to the parent/guardian after class. The parent/guardian can use their discretion whether they want to forward the article to their child to continue researching on their own or, if they would rather, continue investigating the article together with their child. 2) Important – The articles used, despite best efforts in selection, may mention things that may not be for everyone. For example, mortality of certain species, evolution, a new hunting method for a predator to catch their prey, reproduction etc. Please think about the sensitivity of your learner in regards to current news in the Zoology world before enrolling. Each class is independent from the next and no two articles will be the same week to week. Therefore, students can drop in at any time! Class Image by Rémi Jacquaint of Unsplash

Other Details
Parental Guidance
Please see the disclaimer in the class description as current events in the Zoology world can vary and it is important to know the comfortability and sensitivity of your child.
In addition, I will be sending the link to the article to the parent/guardian that enrolled the learner after the class - please note that, as is the case with most websites, there are ads on the website in which I have no control over. I'm sending it via message to the parent/guardian specifically so that you can open it with your child and/or give permission for them to open it on their own.
Supply List
I will provide an (optional) handout that students can use for note taking if they would like to.
1 file available upon enrollment
