Our Museum Educators Annie, Jen, and Molly have years of experience in communicating science to young learners. As we share the teaching duties of each of our programs you may get a chance to have each one of us interact with your student. As educators we have a variety of strengths, which brings a lovely bit of variety to the learning.

Meet Ms. Molly!
Hello. I hold a master’s degree in Archaeological Studies and have worked in museum education and visitor services since 2013. I’ve had the chance to excavate a Roman site in Italy, teach English in China, and work on an organic farm in Panama. I have always been passionate about making science accessible and love to explore cross-cultural connections in all our classes. One of my teaching strengths is that I have an uncanny ability to answer random questions – I just love the challenge! I enjoy hiking, traveling, sports, and guarantee to solve any standard Rubik's Cube in under 90 seconds.

Meet Ms. Jen!
I have worked in museum education since 2016. I love bugs and creepy crawly creatures of all kinds. I have my masters in Entomology where I got to deeply study my passion – beetles! I have worked as an entomologist in museum collections in Nebraska and New Mexico. When you love bugs, you love to spend time outside exploring nature and that is what I love most as I hike and garden. I promise to share my passion for science with your students with great calm and kindness. Because, science rocks!

Meet Ms. Annie!
I have been working in museum education for over 10 years. I am passionate about learning and asking questions and helping others to do the same. I am a visual learner so I use my Masters in Art Education to create science programs rich in visuals and activities that allow us to reach all types of learners. I am the lucky mom to two great humans, an experienced filmmaker, and I hate to bake. Too much precise measuring. I strongly believe laughter is the best medicine and so endeavor to bring humor and fun, as well as really solid science, to each and every one of our programs.

Feel free to bring a stuffed or plastic animal of your choice to the class. We will be discussing how to create dioramas. We will take time to talk through your chosen animal's habit and survival needs for your optional diorama creation that would be done outside of the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
During this class we will be asking your young learner to move their bodies. We will be standing up, sitting down, running in place, moving our arms in a big circle, and trying to jump to touch the ceiling like a mountain lion. Such movement helps your child to learn with their body as they learn about animals. If your student is unable to do any of these, this class is still for them and full of fun exploration. All types of animals learn in all types of ways - that is a learning goal as well!
