In this class, students will enjoy singing fun and silly songs about animals. Class will begin with introductions. Students will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and bring one stuffed animal of choice to "introduce" to the class as well. Next, we will begin the singing with a "Hello" song. We then will sing songs about animals using hand motions and body movements. We will also play an interactive game called "Guess the Animal." Through singing and performing finger plays (i.e. "Itsy Bitsy Spider") students will increase their gross and fine motor skills, We will end class with a "Goodbye" song. Although participation will be encouraged, I realize that some students are shy at first. I'm looking forward to providing a fun and engaging musical experience for the children!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am so excited to be offering a variety of classes to students on the Outschool platform! I am currently offering classes in beginner general music, recorder playing and early math. In upcoming weeks, I'd like to add basic phonics classes to my schedule. I am a proud homeschool mom of two teens. I also recently graduated my oldest son, who is in college pursuing an engineering degree. I have a Master's degree in Music Education from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. For my undergraduate degree, I studied music education with a concentration in voice and choir. My professional work experience includes being an elementary school music and choir teacher in the public schools for four years and teaching first and second grade in a private school for three years and teaching ESL online for three years. My hobbies include playing the piano and singing. Something interesting about me: My mother is Thai, my father is American and my husband is Salvadoran. My three children enjoy a great mixture of cultural experiences in our home! I hope to be able to share some of this with my students as the opportunity allows!
