Is your learner constantly impressing you with animal facts? Do they watch Wild Kratts and nature documentaries nonstop? Then you've come to the right place! In this ongoing class designed for kids who love animals, their knowledge of wildlife will be put to the test. Each week, I will think of 8 new and amazing animals (we will get through as many as we can!). For each animal, I will provide hints and encourage your learner to take their best guess about who my animal may be! Once they've got a guess, they will type their answer in the chat. If they're stumped, that's OK! After allowing learners to type their answers into the chat, I'll show 4 animals to narrow down the options. Once all learners have made a guess, I will show the correct answer along with amazing photos, GIFs, and occasional videos. Here is an example of a question: 1. I am an animal that… ~~~Is primarily frugivorous ~~~Is native to the jungles of Central and South America ~~~Has a long, narrow, feather-like tongue ~~~Has a brightly colored beak ~~~Makes my home in empty tree cavities Who am I? A. Toco toucan B. Scarlet macaw C. Rhinoceros hornbill D. Gila woodpecker I will use a Google Slide presentation to facilitate the game and for visuals. I always encourage questions and discussions though try to keep stories to a minimum to ensure we get through as many questions as we can in our time together. I frequently introduce new vocabulary and related science topics to expand learners' knowledge about core science subjects. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. I can't wait to learn about amazing animals with your learners!

Hi there!
My name is Sarah and I am so excited to explore wildlife, science, and conservation with your learner. I was born and raised in the Metroparks of Ohio, but I currently call the Sonoran Desert of Arizona my home.
I have had a strong love for wildlife and nature for my whole life and have built my career around it. In 2017, I graduated cum laude from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Conservation Biology and Ecology. I am a Certified Environmental Educator in Arizona and a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation.
After college, I worked on several wildlife studies in the field studying species like the western diamondback rattlesnake, spectacled rattlesnakes, and Bahamian rock iguanas. I gained experience as an informal educator developing programs for schools and homeschool students at the Phoenix Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, South Mountain Environmental Education Center, and SeaLife Aquarium.
At the start of COVID, I founded an organization that creates wildlife and conservation STEM resources for K-8 students, including a science curriculum program that teaches core science subjects with an engaging animal twist.
My greatest objective as an educator is to make science FUN. My classes cover important science topics while using wildlife and nature as our driving forces.
