Description

Class Experience

In each class, we will learn about a new animal.  We will cover its common name, scientific name, use the animal classification chart to learn how animals are grouped (Kingdom, Phylum, Order, Class, Family, and Genus), look at various photos and videos of the animal, discuss habitats and diet, and go over some fun facts before having a multiple choice quiz that we will complete as a group. This class is taught in English.

Students will build their knowledge about animals, their environments, and the importance they have in our world.  They will also learn how to classify animals and do a simple art project.

No homework will be assigned but the learners are encouraged to start their art projects in class and complete them on their own if time doesn't allow for the completion during class.

Students should have available to them crayons, markers, colored pencils,  scissors and, a glue stick.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Learners will be assessed informally with the shared quiz and on their contributions to the discussions,

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
