In this class, ACNH players will visit one of my islands and search for furniture, resources, DIY recipes, housewares, flowers, fruit, and clothing items and both pre and post update 2.0 items. All enrolled students will have the opportunity to request specific items to be available during class. Prior to class, I will assign an island for each student to visit. In addition to any requested items, students may fill their pockets with any other dropped items. Students with a specific list of items needed will benefit best from this class. .For this class, students will travel to my island using the dodo code provided prior to class. I will post the dodo code(s) in the classroom before the beginning of class. As soon as these codes are posted, students may enter my island, even though the timer will not start until the class "officially" begins. Students will have 20 minutes to grab wanted and/or requested items. This is more than enough time for a trip but most students will not have enough time to visit a second time. Unlike my other classes, the class time limit for this class will be strictly enforced. In the event that MY communication is disrupted, I will allow 5 additional minutes on the islands. This will be a fun class designed to provide students a stress-free, safe environment to encourage socialization among peers who enjoy the same game. To participate, students must have the Animal Crossing: New Horizons video game, know how to use a dodo code (or have an adult nearby to assist, if needed) as well as have a Nintendo online subscription.

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a facilitator of several popular video game groups, I have enjoyed watching friendships blossom among the like-minded players. Some gamers are attracted to playing video games because they lack a real connection with most of their peers. Other kids enjoy playing and talking about their favorite games to anyone with ears. Like my own son, who is on the spectrum, kids who play video games often disconnect from the world around them. I have found that uniting kids with similar video game interests builds confidence and valuable social skills while making meaningful connections with the world around them.
