Class Experience

In this 55-minute class, we will visit some of our classmates' islands and shop til we drop! Students will make new friends, visit new islands, take tours, and purchase clothing and other cool, unique items to take back to their home island with them!

The class will begin with introductions and a fun get-to-know-you question. I will then go over Animal Crossing etiquette (the do's and don'ts of visiting other people's islands). From there, we will head to our airports and travel through online play to our new friends' islands!

Depending on time and enrollment, we will spend approximately 8-10 minutes on each person's island before we travel to the next. We will visit as many as we can during class. Every student will get to visit someone else's island, but we might not have time for ALL students to have others visit their island. However, even if your island doesn't get any visitors this time, you will definitely get plenty of chances to shop, which is what this class is all about.

While we're on our shopping extravaganza, students will have time to chat and share tips about the game, including tips on fashion, hair, home design, gameplay tips, and more!

Students who enroll in this class should be at an intermediate level in Animal Crossing, meaning they should have an island with a shop that others could visit, such as Nook's Cranny or the Able Sisters Shop. Students should also have plenty of bells saved up (ie; SHOPPING MONEY!).
Learning Goals
Students will have fun exploring each other's islands and using their bells to make purchases. Students will learn to interact with peers in an online platform.

Parental Guidance
Parents, please note the following: REQUIREMENTS: - Students will need Wifi set up on their Switch or Switch Lite prior to the start of class. They will not be able to participate if they have not already connected to Wifi. - Students will also need a Nintendo Online membership. (Purchased from Nintendo.com prior to enrollment in this course.) SAFETY: - Students will be engaging in "online play" in order to travel to classmates' islands. This class will give students the opportunity to play safely online with other students enrolled in the class, rather than strangers on the internet. - The code students use to travel to other islands during class will expire after they leave each island. If students wish to play online with the friends they meet in this class AFTER the class ends, they will be given the opportunity to type their Nintendo "friend code" into the chat. **By enrolling in this class, you give your student permission to share their friend code with the students they meet in this class.** - Students will not use any real money during this class. Purchases made within the game will solely use "bells", which is Animal Crossing's in-game currency. No need to worry about accidental credit card charges!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Parents & Students!
I am SO excited to offer classes on Outschool! I'm a former high school English teacher and I'm currently pursuing a Masters degree in Christian Counseling.
The goal of my classes will be to share my passion for God and make the Bible fun, approachable, and interactive. Focusing on books of the Bible, thematic studies, and even just HOW to read and interact with your Bible, students will walk away with tools and strategies to help them enjoy reading their Bible rather than seeing it as a chore.
I can't wait to meet my new students!!
