Animal Crossing Gaming: Play, Interact and Improve Skills (Ages 9-12)

This one time class will focus on interacting within the game Animal Crossing! At the beginning of class, we will discuss and vote on what we want to do for the duration of class. From there learners will have access to my Animal Crossing island, Cozy Cove, to play and interact. Animal Crossing is a beautifully designed game world with never ending activities for the learners to choose and vote on. From building their home in the game, landscaping, bug-catching, gardening, diving for sea creatures and more! 

Animal Crossing is a seasonal game meaning the activities and environment change as the actual seasons around us change. This keeps both the game and class fun and engaging! 

My goal is for this class to be a calm, cozy gaming environment for learners who can get overstimulated in larger, fast-paced classes. While learner-focused, I also believe in utilizing this environment to work on life and communication skills. Learners will play Animal Crossing with other classmates and myself while making sure to stay respectful in both words and actions. This environment will help learners grow in their own confidence while interacting in the game and be mindful of the other learners.

Your learner should be familiar with how to use a Nintendo Switch and have a Nintendo Switch Online account already active. This ensures we are able to play together as a group and visit each other’s islands in Animal Crossing (New Horizons).
