Class Experience

*** You need a Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing New Horizons and a Nintendo Online Subscription to participate as noted in the Learner Supply List *** Please also review the Parental Guidance section below.

Come to my island and see what fun the night brings as we unite together for an extended play class featuring a scavenger hunt and a hilarious game of Sardines which is the Animal Crossing version of hide & seek.

For the scavenger hunt, the teacher will assign each player a list of items that they need to find and/or obtain on the island. These items could be anything found on the island such as bugs, fish, rare items. You keep whatever you find and each student receives presents and Bells for participating in the fun.

Students will also play Sardines which is a simple twist on the classic game of hide and seek. In this game, the teacher will hide somewhere on the island and each player looks for her. As the players finds her, they remain in the same hiding spot with her until all players have found the teachers location along with the other students.

This is a safe and fun way for students to gather with their peers who share the same interests, and practice their social skills. The students will develop team building skills by collaborating with each other during class.

Students will enter via the Zoom classroom and after we introduce ourselves, the teacher will send a Dodo code to each student individually until everyone is on the island. This has been found to be the most effective and fast way to get everyone to the island without complications. It takes a few minutes to get everyone on the island so patience is key.

IMPORTANT: Once on the island, it is important that you wait on the Dodo dock for all of your classmates to arrive. Doing things like jumping in the ocean, talking to villagers, being on your nook phone and messaging will prevent other students from being able to get on the island and will possibly crash the system making us have to start over with a new Dodo code. Please be sure to listen and abide by all instructions to make this a fun experience for everyone.

NOTE: Students should be ready to come to the island when class starts. Please sure to check all WiFi connections, Switch battery life and parental controls before class begins to ensure a smooth entry, as I am unable to hold or stop class to wait for these issues to be resolved. A strong Wifi connection is needed or we may have a communication error causing a delay in getting to the island. Students need to have a Nintendo Online account to be able to play via Dodo Code. They should bring their switch to class so we can play!

Please be sure to read the pre-class posting that is sent in the classroom portal before class begins.

Refunds and transfers are not granted within 24 hours of class time or if students show up to class without the items on the Learner Supply List.
