Class Experience

Students will learn acting techniques and presentation skills through theatre games that build confidence and ease with speaking in front of an audience. In this one time class, we will explore theatre warm-up games, tongue twisters, and improve skills. We will loosen our lips and nerves with some zany tongue twisters, play games that develop quick thinking on the spot, and enjoy improve skits performed by the students on silly topics. Teaching will occur through modeling and discussion. Learners will be encouraged to participate and share ideas often. Students will have opportunities to work with other students on skits to be performed by the end of class. Learners do not need to have any prior experience or knowledge in this content, but rather a desire to play, imagine, and create.

Class Structure
•	Warm up with facial expressions and tongue twisters (10 min.)
•	Blocking & Stage Movements (10 min.)
•	Focus Games (10 min.)
•	Improve (10 min)
•	Acting Challenges (5 min.)

Though this class is part of my Acting Class series, it can be taken out of order. Performers, public speakers, and shy individuals are all welcome to join and participate at their level of comfort. All will grow in confidence from the experience.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a BA in theatre arts and have taught for 19 years. I believe imaginative play is critical to child development and creative thinking. In today's world, our children need to be quick on their feet problem solvers. Acting, and especially the skill of improve, develops that. I am passionate about bringing fun and active learning to my lessons. Students are Doing, rather than merely listening.
