Beginner Level
In this fun, academic class students will spend two days learning about anatomy. Students will observe a model skeleton as well as look at still images, while studying the names and types of structures we're observing. Each student will create a scientific illustration of part of the skeleton to help in the learning process. Class 1 - - Discuss the basic aspects of anatomy and the skeleton - learn about scientific illustrations, how they were used, and why they are important - begin observing skeleton and create a drawing through guided drawing Class 2 - - review and continue learning skeletal terms - create scientific illustrations Artistic suggestions or help will be offered while we're working on the illustrations.
Learning Goals
Students should be able to identify some bones in their bodies by common or scientific names
students should be able to tell you a fun fact about bones
