Homework
1-2 hours per week. Homework will be given twice a week. These assignments will be given out on Monday and Wednesday and should not take longer than about 45 minutes to complete. There will be case-studies and articles provided for some body systems that will need to be read that correspond with the different body systems. These reading materials will be provided for students to print or view online.Assessment
There will be 5 comprehensive exams offered throughout the course, and a final exam over all body systems at the end of the course for parents who opt for me to grade their child's work for transcript purposes. (This class is ideal of students who are home-schooled and need an anatomy credit, as I will offer to keep grades and provide a transcript for parents that request them.) The exam schedule will be as follows: Exam 1: Weeks 1 - 3 Exam 2: Weeks 4 - 6 Exam 3: Weeks 7 - 8 Exam 4: Weeks 9 - 10 Exam 5: Weeks 11 - 13 Exam 6: Weeks 1 - 13 The quizzes for each of the body systems will be a mix of multiple choice and short answer. All exams will be multiple choice with at least once essay question.Grading

The purpose of this class is to give learners an in-depth look at the human body systems. The schedule for each week will be as follows: Week 1: Skeletal System Week 2: Muscular System Week 3: Integumentary System Week 4: Nervous System Week 5: Endocrine System Week 6: Lymphatic/ Immune System Week 7: Cardiovascular/ Circulatory System Week 8: Respiratory System Week 9: Digestive/ Excretory System Week 10: Urinary/ Renal System Week 11: Male Reproductive System Week 12: Female Reproductive System Week 13: Embryology For each system, the week will be outlined thusly: Students will be provided with in-depth information of the week's body system via a PowerPoint production or Nearpod presentation. Information for each system will include the organs present, the function of the system, what happens of the system doesn't work properly, how each system helps the body maintain homeostasis, and diseases for each system. Presentations will include videos and printable diagrams will be available upon request to students for further understanding. Nearpod and Flipgrid codes will be given out each week for new course material and discussion forums in which students can interact with each other and myself. Students will be provided with an assignment after each part of the lesson for each body system. After the body system's information has been relayed to the students and corresponding assignments have been completed, I will provide students with a formal assessment, or quiz. Parental Guidance
Scientific language will be used throughout the course, as well as anatomical names for all body parts and organs. Students will be viewing actual photos of organs, both healthy and diseased, and will be provided with explicit diagrams. Reproductive organs will only be shown as illustrations, not photographs.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
