All things Among Us! In this class, we will use oven-bake, polymer, or air-dry clay to create little Among Us characters. Some learners can make them into earrings, as pictured. Others can make them into key rings or just little figures to play with and give to friends. While we are creating, students can talk about which character they like the most and all their adventures in the game. The teacher will use 2 screens for this class- 1 showing her hands as she demonstrates how to work the clay to make the shapes we want, and one showing the teacher’s face as she talks to the students. Let’s create together!
Learning Goals
The student will create a small sculptures of characters from the game Among Us using a variety of techniques to manipulate air dry, polymer, or oven-bake clay.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parents should be aware that some utensils are required to manipulate clay. If the learner is using kitchen utensils, parental guidance is advised. Parents should also ensure the area is safe for students to create- protecting furniture. Parent help will be needed if the clay needs to be baked. If learners are making earrings or key rings, parents may need to assist students in assembly after the clay is dry or baked.
Supply List
Students should have one of the following types of clay: oven-bake clay, polymer clay, air-dry clay. Students should also have some tools- many clay kits come with plastic tools. If the clay kit did not come with tools, the student can use things from around the house such as a butter knife, fork, spoon, straw, skewer, cookie cutters, etc. If kitchen utensils are used, it’s advised that parents are present. It’s advised that students have baking paper to work on to minimize mess. It would also be helpful to have a picture of the character they are wanting to create. Clay kit price: £5-15, $5-20 Earrings or Keychain supplies: £1-3, $2-5 Baking paper: £1-3, $2-5 Parents could go that extra-creative step and create your own air-dry clay!
