40 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In 35 minute social club, students will be able to play Among Us each week with their friends. Due to the age of the players, we will not be utilizing the game’s chat features to communicate. We will be able to talk to each other through Zoom. It is easiest for students to also have a second device to play the game from. I can screen share my game to help students learn how to maneuver the game and complete tasks. More screen sharing will occur if there are beginning players in the class. Our rules for this class are: Be kind Do not talk over others Mute yourself if you have background noise so that we can hear each other Allow others to talk too Don’t tell us if you’re the Imposter If you called a meeting, you talk get to talk first If you were accused of being an Imposter, you get to speak next to defend yourself. If you die, don’t say who killed you. Since this game requires a minimum of 4 people to play, we will be unable to play unless 3 people attend class. If we are in the middle of a game at the end of class, we will continue to play until the game ends. Please feel free to leave class at any time if you need to. Students will need to download the app and enter the code of the private game to be able to play the game. Some students need parental help entering the codes. I prefer teaching ongoing classes that meet every week where students are able to get to know each other over time. Occasionally, I will need to cancel class with only a few days notice to travel for work or to meet family responsibilities. If this may be an issue, please consider it before enrolling.

External Resources
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
3 Degrees
Doctoral Degree from University of Tennessee
Master's Degree from University of Tennessee
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Notre Dame
I enjoy incorporating educational opportunities into fun activities. For example, my Girls’ Coloring Social Club hides science, geography, social studies, arts, communication and history.
My teaching style preference is a homeschool approach emphasizing respectful for the child by allowing children to speak during classes rather than instituting abject muting. Students are treated like they and their ideas are important. Students are able to learn proper socialization skills over time through this teaching method.
Occasionally, I will need to cancel class with only a few days notice to travel for work or to meet family responsibilities. If this may be an issue, please consider it before enrolling.
CLASS RULES
All of my classes have the same classroom rules:
Be kind to each other
Don’t speak over others
Allow everyone a chance to speak
Mute yourself if you have background noise so we can hear each other
You do not have to raise your hand to speak but if someone is speaking and you’d like to speak, raise your hand so I know to call on you next
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
It detracts from the learning experience of students and from my teaching when I have a student attending classes who refuses to adhere to the class rules.
Noncomplying students will be corrected (muted in extreme cases) and reminded of the class rules 3 times each class before being sent to the waiting room. If a student is sent to the waiting room, a message will be sent to the parent after class about the classroom issues with the student. If a student is sent to the waiting room during 2 classes, the student will be withdrawn from class.
