ASL is a visual language. It is a language that can be expressed through facial expressions, body language and through our hands. 

Students will learn beginners vocabulary. 

Week 1: 
Alphabet (ASL Bingo)/Introductions 
Greetings/emotions 

Weeks 2: 
Foods 
Fruits/Veggies- Fun Plinko game! 

Week 3: 
Pets and animals : Bring your pet for a show & tell! 
Family Signs: Bring a picture of your family or drawing 

Week 4: 
Sports/activities 
Kahoot Game!

Flash cards with different "feelings" (will explain in class)

Paper/pencil for scavenger hunt

I began learning ASL at the age of 14 and have been using it in different social settings ever since. I have used ASL in my personal life to communicate with friends who are Deaf. I have also used ASL in my professional life with my students when I was a former middle school teacher for the deaf.
