Come join me as I walk you through a recipe from the American Girl Baking book! While the baked goods are cooking we will craft up a treat for our dolls to enjoy forever!

In this lesson, I will walk the students through a recipe from the American Girl Baking book for pumpkin cupcakes! Adult supervision will be needed to place items in the oven or help with mixing and measuring if needed. I take great pride in helping the students learn how to measure and always let them know I am more than happy to repeat any instruction. I never want a student to feel behind, rushed or confused when baking with me. While the treats are baking I will guide the students step by step through making a pumpkin pie for their dolls that they can keep forever! Recipes can be altered for dietary and allergy needs, please contact me if you need help finding alternatives to ingredients, I love to help with that. *Classes are about an hour give or take. I did my best in giving a time frame but all recipes vary so its hard to be firm on a time*

Parental Guidance
Kids will need help with turning on the oven and putting items in and out of the oven. Some may need help with using the electric mixer, microwave, and measuring depending on their experience levels cooking. I am always willing to repeat and help with understanding measurements so students will learn the skills to become more independent in the kitchen.
Supply List
1 1/2 cup flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoons round nutmeg 1/4 teaspoons salt 1/2 cup soft unsalted butter 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 2 large eggs 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree 1/2 cup sour cream Cream cheese frosted - store bought is fine but you can also are your own before class if you prefer. Please let me know if you need help changing anything ingredients to be allergy friendly.

I am a long time American Girl collector. I got my first doll at age 6 in the 90s. My collection quickly grew to 5 dolls and bitty babies! I loved the stories and how detailed the clothes were. I still have my collection today and listen to podcasts about the dolls! To say I love american girls would be an understatement!
