Class Experience

Throughout the course, students will recieve a well-rounded look at the various aspects of life in Colonial America. Each class will be facilitated with a teacher-made powerpoint to allow students to see images of life during this time period. I believe strongly in allowing students to see/experience things firsthand. We will also view short historical videos that allow students to see life in a Colonial kitchen. It is for this reason, each class will conclude with an activity to watch or participate in if you choose to do so at home. I strongly encourage students to ask topic specific questions as often this shows student interests and encourages engagement in the lesson!

Each session's activity will be shown during the meeting and encouraged for the students to participate in. A purchase list will be provided if your child would like to follow along during the activity. (Example: Making bread, Whirligig Toy, Candle Making, Spindle & Wool...)
