US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this 4 week class, learners will enjoy a winter themed exploration of arctic animals such as the arctic fox, polar bear, arctic hare, and narwhal that will include arts and crafts, writing, and videos.  

✅ Week 1 - Arctic Fox (Learn the geographic region they live in, the homes they live in, their physical characteristics, and what they eat) 

In Nearpod, learners will watch a video, play a matching pair game, draw an Arctic Fox face, play a matching game, collaborate with peers, and complete a craft. 

Art project and make your own snow (Arctic Fox Craft)

✅ Week 2 - Polar Bear (Learn the geographic region they live in, the homes they live in, their physical characteristics, and what they eat) 

In Nearpod, learners will watch a video, play a memory game, collaborate with peers, draw a polar bear face, play a matching pairs game, and watch a guided craft video. 

Art Project (Polar Bear Craft)

✅ Week 3 - Arctic Hare (Learn the geographic region they live in, the homes they live in, their physical characteristics, and what they eat) 

In Nearpod, learners will watch a video, color an arctic hare, collaborate with peers, play a matching game, complete a poll, write or tell a story, and watch a guided craft video.

Art Project (Arctic Hare Craft)

✅ Week 4 - Narwhal (Learn the geographic region they live in, where they live, their physical characteristics, and what they eat) 

In Nearpod, learners will watch a video, draw a picture of a narwhal, complete a poll, write or tell a story, collaborate with peers, and watch a guided craft video. 

Art Project (Narwhal Craft) 

Interaction in this class: 
* Learners will be provided with an educational video that includes a slide show presentation each week.  
* Learners will receive a weekly art project.   
* Learners will be provided with relevant worksheets each week.  
* Learners will receive writing prompts in Nearpod in week three and four.   
* Learners will be prompted to use a Nearpod collaborate board each week to share their favorite facts about the animal of the week and pictures of it. 

Perspective: 
Information in this class will be presented from a scientific perspective.  

Note: 
This class will not discuss any winter holidays. 

Prerequisites: 
There are tasks in this class that require reading.  Reading is not mandatory for the class but it is helpful to be able to complete every activity.

Parental Guidance
Adult supervision and/or assistance with the use of safety scissors is needed especially when students do not have previous experience using scissors. *The fake snow craft is not edible. Adults should advise learners not to eat it.
