55 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class we will focus on jazz dance technique for the beginner/intermediate dancer. We will start with a comprehensive warm up that involves stretching and conditioning. Then we will review steps that we will use in the combination. After working through some of the more difficult or technical steps, we will then apply what we've learned to a combination! We will focus on musicality, memorization, and performance skills. This class is recommended for dancers who have between 1-3 years of experience.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of technical dance terminology and apply this knowledge to a classic theatre dance combination. Students will improve their confidence, performance skills, memorization skills, and technical ability.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students will need space to move and dance safely (clear floors and plenty of space to move). Students need to be in closed toe shoes. Tennis shoes, dance shoes, jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or character shoes are all good choices. Students will be exerting themselves as they would in a school gym class and are encouraged to take breaks as necessary and keep water handy for hydration. Parents are advised to supervise this class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
