Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will be introduced to Python and learn the foundations of the programming language. This allows them to confidently move onto more complex code and continue their coding journey. The class is also intended to encourage students to get excited about the possibilities of coding and computer science!
I’ve been a professional developer for nearly a decade. In the past I've worked for Dell, Apple, Best Buy, and the Government of New Zealand. Over the last 4 years, I’ve been teaching and mentoring aspiring junior developers.
There are optional practice challenges and review questions that every student is encouraged to complete. These usually take about 1 – 2 hours per week.
Students will use Code with Mu, a free code editor designed specifically for beginners. Code with Mu requires any Windows, Apple Mac, or Linux computer. ****Students will need to be very comfortable typing and know how to copy/paste on their device.*********
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will use Code with Mu, a free code editor designed specifically for beginners. Code with Mu requires any Windows, Apple Mac, or Linux computer.
